Cookie Policy

How we use cookies on the 4Skills Work Experience platform.

This page explains what cookies we set, why we set them, and how you can control them.

Last updated: 28 April 2026.

This Cookie Policy applies to www.4skillsworkexperience.com (the "platform"), operated by GetMyFirstJob Ltd (trading as Talent People) ("we", "us", "our") to deliver the 4Skills Work Experience Programme.

A cookie is a small text file that a website stores on your browser or device. Cookies let us keep you signed in, remember your choices, and understand how the platform is used so we can improve it. Some cookies are essential for the site to function; others run only with your consent.

Your choice: the cookie banner

When you first visit the platform you will see a cookie banner asking whether you accept or decline non-essential cookies. Your response is stored in your browser's local storage as CookieConsent with a value of Accepted or Declined.

  • If you accept: we load Google Analytics (GA4) and our Mautic CDP tracking script in addition to the strictly necessary cookies.
  • If you decline, or you have not yet responded: only strictly necessary cookies are set. The GA4 and Mautic scripts do not load and no analytics or marketing cookies are placed on your device.

You can change your mind at any time by clearing the CookieConsent entry in your browser's local storage (this brings the banner back) or by clearing the platform's cookies and site data using your browser's settings.

Categories of cookies we use

  • Strictly necessary cookies. These are required for the platform to work — for example, to keep you signed in and to remember the age band you selected during registration. They are always set and cannot be turned off.
  • Analytical / functional cookies. These help us understand how visitors use the platform, count sessions, and improve the user experience. They are only set if you accept the cookie banner.
  • Marketing cookies. Set by our Mautic Customer Data Platform when you have accepted the cookie banner. Marketing functionality is blocked at the application level for users under 13 regardless of cookie consent.

Third-party cookies

The Google Analytics and Mautic cookies above are set by third parties on our behalf. We have data processing agreements in place with both providers. Google Analytics processes data in the United States under the EU Standard Contractual Clauses; the Mautic CDP is hosted in the United Kingdom.

If you choose to sign in using a social provider (Google, Facebook, TikTok, or Microsoft), that provider may set its own cookies under its own cookie policy when you authenticate. We do not control those cookies.

Blocking cookies in your browser

Most browsers let you block or delete cookies through their settings. If you block all cookies — including strictly necessary ones — you may not be able to sign in to or use parts of the platform.
