Terms of Use

Terms of Use

Please read these terms carefully before using the 4Skills Work Experience platform.

Last updated: 28 April 2026.

These Terms of Use (together with the documents referred to in them) tell you the terms on which you may use www.4skillsworkexperience.com (the "platform"), whether as a guest or a registered user. Use of the platform includes accessing, browsing, and registering for an account.

Please read these Terms of Use carefully before you start to use the platform. By using the platform, you confirm that you accept these Terms of Use and agree to comply with them. If you do not agree, you must not use the platform. We recommend that you save or print a copy for future reference.

OTHER APPLICABLE TERMS

These Terms of Use refer to the following additional documents, which also apply to your use of the platform:

  • Our Privacy Policy, which sets out the basis on which we process any personal data we collect from you, or that you provide to us.
  • Our Children's Privacy Notice, which explains in plain language what we do with the data of users under 13.
  • Our Careers Adviser Privacy Notice, which explains what data Careers Advisers can see about learners enrolled at their school.
  • Our Cookie Policy, which sets out information about the cookies we use and how to control them.

INFORMATION ABOUT US

The platform is operated by GetMyFirstJob Ltd (trading as Talent People) ("we", "us", "our"). We are registered in England and Wales under company number 06685719 and have our registered office at 61 Westway, Caterham, Surrey CR3 5TQ.

Our Data Protection Officer is Dan Czaicki and can be contacted at data@getmyfirstjob.co.uk.

OUR SERVICE

The platform delivers the 4Skills Work Experience Programme: a structured virtual work experience and early-careers learning experience for young people. Once registered, you can access learning modules, complete activities and submissions, receive AI-assisted feedback on your work, track your progress, and earn a certificate of completion. Access to the modules is only available after you have registered an account and accepted these Terms of Use.

The 4Skills Work Experience Programme is provided as an educational and developmental resource. The platform is not a recruitment service and we do not match users with employment, apprenticeships, or any other paid opportunities through this site.

ELIGIBILITY AND AGE REQUIREMENT

The platform is designed for learners aged 11 and over. To register an account, you must be aged 11 or over. Users under the age of 13 are recognised as a primary cohort for this programme and are given enhanced protections — please see our Children's Privacy Notice for details, including what data we do and don't collect from under-13 users.

The platform is intended for users based in the United Kingdom.

CHANGES TO THESE TERMS

We may revise these Terms of Use at any time by amending this page. Please check this page from time to time to take notice of any changes we have made — they are binding on you when you continue to use the platform.

CHANGES TO THE PLATFORM AND ITS CONTENT

We may update the platform and the programme content from time to time, and may change the content at any time. Although we make reasonable efforts to keep the platform up to date, we make no representations, warranties or guarantees that any of the content is accurate, complete, or current.

ACCESSING THE PLATFORM

The platform is made available free of charge. We do not guarantee that the platform, or any content on it, will always be available or be uninterrupted. Access is permitted on a temporary basis. We may suspend, withdraw, discontinue or change all or any part of the platform without notice. We will not be liable to you if for any reason the platform is unavailable at any time or for any period.

You are responsible for making all arrangements necessary for you to access the platform, and for ensuring that everyone who accesses the platform through your internet connection is aware of these Terms of Use and complies with them.

REGISTRATION AND YOUR ACCOUNT

When you register on the platform you will be asked to create an account and provide certain information, including a valid email address, your name, your date of birth, and the school you attend. Authentication is provided through Microsoft Entra ID; you may sign in with email and password or, optionally, with a Google, Microsoft, Facebook, or TikTok account.

In order to register on the platform you must be aged 11 or over (see "Eligibility and Age Requirement" above).

When registering, any details you provide must be accurate and applicable to you. You are solely responsible for the accuracy of the information in your account and for any submissions you make to learning modules.

If you are provided with a user identification code, password, or any other piece of information as part of our security procedures, you must treat it as confidential. You must not disclose it to any third party. We have the right to disable any user identification code or password at any time if, in our reasonable opinion, you have failed to comply with these Terms of Use. If you know or suspect that anyone other than you knows your sign-in details, you must promptly notify us at data@getmyfirstjob.co.uk.

DELETION AND RETENTION OF YOUR ACCOUNT

Your account and the personal data associated with it will be automatically deleted after two years of inactivity (measured from your last interaction with the platform).

You can request earlier deletion of your account at any time by emailing our Data Protection Officer at data@getmyfirstjob.co.uk. Your request will be processed through our automated deletion routine. Some information may continue to exist in encrypted backups for a short period after deletion before those backups are themselves recycled.

AI-ASSISTED FEEDBACK

Some learning steps use AI tools (operated within a closed Microsoft Azure OpenAI environment) to generate feedback on your submissions or to power short roleplay or chatbot interactions. AI feedback is intended as guidance, not as a definitive assessment. AI is not used to make automated decisions about you. For more detail on how AI is used and what data it sees, please refer to our Privacy Policy.

CAREERS ADVISER VISIBILITY

If a verified Careers Adviser at your registered school is using the platform, that Adviser may be able to see limited information about your enrolment and progress in order to support you through the programme. Full detail of what an Adviser can and cannot see is set out in our Careers Adviser Privacy Notice.

INTELLECTUAL PROPERTY RIGHTS

We are the owner or the licensee of all intellectual property rights in the platform and in the material published on it. Those works are protected by copyright laws and treaties around the world. All such rights are reserved.

You may print off one copy, and may download extracts, of any page(s) from the platform for your personal, non-commercial use, and you may draw the attention of others to content on the platform.

You must not modify the paper or digital copies of any materials you have printed or downloaded in any way, and you must not use any illustrations, photographs, video or audio sequences or any graphics separately from any accompanying text.

Our status (and that of any identified contributors) as the authors of content on the platform must always be acknowledged. You must not use any part of the content on the platform for commercial purposes without obtaining a licence from us.

If you print off, copy or download any part of the platform in breach of these Terms of Use, your right to use the platform will cease immediately and you must, at our option, return or destroy any copies of the materials you have made.

NO RELIANCE ON INFORMATION

The content on the platform — including AI-generated feedback — is provided for general guidance and educational purposes only. It is not intended to amount to advice on which you should rely. Although we make reasonable efforts to update the information on the platform, we make no representations, warranties or guarantees, whether express or implied, that the content is accurate, complete, or up to date.

LIMITATION OF OUR LIABILITY

Nothing in these Terms of Use excludes or limits our liability for death or personal injury arising from our negligence, or for fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation, or for any other liability that cannot be excluded or limited by English law.

To the extent permitted by law, we exclude all conditions, warranties, representations or other terms which may apply to the platform or any content on it, whether express or implied.

We will not be liable to any user for any loss or damage, whether in contract, tort (including negligence), breach of statutory duty, or otherwise, even if foreseeable, arising under or in connection with:

  • use of, or inability to use, the platform; or
  • use of or reliance on any content displayed on the platform.

The platform is provided for personal educational use. You agree not to use it for any commercial or business purpose, and we have no liability to you for any loss of profit, loss of business, business interruption, or loss of business opportunity.

We will not be liable for any loss or damage caused by a virus, distributed denial-of-service attack, or other technologically harmful material that may infect your computer equipment, computer programs, data, or other proprietary material due to your use of the platform or to your downloading of any content on it, or on any website linked to it.

ACCEPTABLE USE

You may only use the platform for lawful purposes. You must not use the platform:

  • in any way that breaches any applicable local, national or international law or regulation;
  • in any way that is unlawful or fraudulent, or has any unlawful or fraudulent purpose or effect;
  • for the purpose of harming, or attempting to harm, any other user (including any other learner) in any way;
  • to send, knowingly receive, upload, download, use or re-use any material that does not comply with our content standards (set out below);
  • to transmit, or procure the sending of, any unsolicited or unauthorised advertising or promotional material or any other form of similar solicitation (spam);
  • to knowingly transmit any data, send or upload any material that contains viruses, Trojan horses, worms, time-bombs, keystroke loggers, spyware, adware or any other harmful programs or similar computer code designed to adversely affect the operation of any computer software or hardware.

You also agree not to access without authority, interfere with, damage, or disrupt:

  • any part of the platform;
  • any equipment or network on which the platform is stored;
  • any software used in the provision of the platform; or
  • any equipment, network, or software owned or used by any third party.

CONTENT STANDARDS FOR YOUR SUBMISSIONS

When you submit answers, written reflections, or any other contributions through learning modules, those contributions must:

  • be accurate (where they state facts);
  • be genuinely held (where they state opinions);
  • comply with applicable law in the UK and in any country from which they are posted.

Contributions must not:

  • contain any material which is defamatory of any person;
  • contain any material which is obscene, offensive, hateful, or inflammatory;
  • promote sexually explicit material or violence;
  • promote discrimination based on race, sex, religion, nationality, disability, sexual orientation, or age;
  • infringe any copyright, database right, or trade mark of any other person;
  • be likely to deceive any person;
  • be made in breach of any legal duty owed to a third party, such as a contractual duty or a duty of confidence;
  • promote any illegal activity;
  • be threatening, abuse or invade another's privacy, or cause annoyance, inconvenience or needless anxiety;
  • be likely to harass, upset, embarrass, alarm or annoy any other person;
  • impersonate any person, or misrepresent your identity or affiliation with any person;
  • give the impression that they emanate from us, if this is not the case;
  • advocate, promote, or assist any unlawful act (such as copyright infringement or computer misuse).

You warrant that any contribution complies with these standards, and you will be liable to us and indemnify us for any breach of that warranty.

Any contribution you submit will be considered non-confidential. You retain ownership of your contribution, but you grant us a limited, royalty-free licence to use, store, and copy that contribution for the purposes of operating the platform — including making it available to verified Careers Advisers at your school where applicable, and using it as the input to AI-assisted feedback as described above.

We have the right to remove any contribution if, in our opinion, it does not comply with these content standards.

VIRUSES

We do not guarantee that the platform will be secure or free from bugs or viruses. You are responsible for configuring your information technology, computer programs, and platform in order to access the site, and you should use your own virus protection software.

You must not misuse the platform by knowingly introducing viruses, trojans, worms, logic bombs or other material which is malicious or technologically harmful. You must not attempt to gain unauthorised access to the platform, the server on which it is stored, or any server, computer, or database connected to it. You must not attack the platform via a denial-of-service attack or distributed denial-of-service attack. By breaching this provision, you would commit a criminal offence under the Computer Misuse Act 1990. We will report any such breach to the relevant law enforcement authorities and will co-operate with those authorities by disclosing your identity to them. In the event of such a breach, your right to use the platform will cease immediately.

LINKING TO THE PLATFORM

You may link to our home page, provided you do so in a way that is fair and legal and does not damage our reputation or take advantage of it. You must not establish a link in such a way as to suggest any form of association, approval, or endorsement on our part where none exists. The platform must not be framed on any other site, and you may not create a link to any part of the platform other than the home page without our written consent. We reserve the right to withdraw linking permission without notice.

THIRD PARTY LINKS AND RESOURCES

Where the platform contains links to other sites and resources provided by third parties, those links are provided for your information only. We have no control over the contents of those sites or resources, and we accept no responsibility for them or for any loss or damage that may arise from your use of them.

APPLICABLE LAW

These Terms of Use, their subject matter, and their formation, are governed by English law. You and we both agree that the courts of England and Wales will have non-exclusive jurisdiction. However, if you are a resident of Northern Ireland, you may also bring proceedings in Northern Ireland; and if you are a resident of Scotland, you may also bring proceedings in Scotland.
